History
Russell Co. Co-Op Livestock Shipping Association was formed around 1933. In 1939 the Association had an active membership of over 600 farmers, 90% of whom grew tobacco. With the construction of our current building in 1952 the now known Russell Co. Co-Op was completed and was opened in 1953. Russell Co. Co-Op became a Southern States Member Co-Op in 1988. In January 2019 Russell Co. Co-Op decided to spread its wings and expand with a satellite store opening in Abingdon, VA. Russell Co. Co-Op is proud to serve several counties and states. With almost 90 years of experience we are committed to giving the quality and service our foundation was built on.
